The Intuitive Horsemanship Philosophy

I offer a flat-fee, training (not timing)-based program in order to meet each individual horse or mule where they’re at. Equines don’t run on human time, and I speak their language first and foremost.

I believe in creating willing partnerships above all else. I never use or promote the use of gadgets that inflict pain, restrict the body, or otherwise coerce the equine into performing. If working through challenges at liberty or bridle-less is your goal, I am more than willing to accomodate you. Respect is developed through mutual trust - never through pain, fear, or intimidation.

As a professional equine bodyworker, barefoot trimmer, and veterinary technician, I am additionally able to identify and address physical ailments of the body that may account for behavioral changes or challenges. The small-scale, multifaceted nature of my program means your horse or mule will receive hands-on time every single day if needed.

I’ve found through experience that most all “problem” horses and mules are working through human communication problems. To this end, I strongly suggest owner participation once an appropriate stage of training is reached. Accommodations at the farmhouse may be provided for this component of the training process.

My farm is located in Ocala off Hwy 484, right around the corner from the Florida Horse Park and 20 minutes from the World Equestrian Center.

The place we start from:

The ultimate form of intrinsic motivation is achieved the moment you fall in love with the process rather than the product.

Your goal, then, is to start from within, to grant your horse or mule the dignity of discovering joy in simply being with you.

You’ll know you’ve made it when the love of doing, rather than the love of wanting or winning, becomes part of your identity.

If you’re riding a horse or mule you love, you’ve already won.
